Did you know that, once upon a time, authorities thought demolishing Notre-Dame de Paris was a good idea? You may already know how this was prevented—by the power of a book! The world-renowned author Victor Hugo was a great admirer of the cathedral’s architecture, so he wrote a book titled “Notre-Dame de Paris” to help save it from demolition. The book was later adapted into a film several times; none of those versions, however, proved as memorable as the stage adaptation. The musical achieved incredible success and became one of the most unforgettable musicals ever produced.
